Today was the 150 Points race. But because of weather conditions, heavily overcast and fog at the scheduled release point, we dropped to about 110 miles. Great race. The birds were released at 8:00am with 68 degrees and clear skies. We waited for an hour and a half for the weather to break at the scheduled release point but it never did. Decided to come in to see where the weather would break which worked out to be at about 110 miles.

The basket list for the 150 is now up. Please look under the Events tab for the listing. As of tonight, we are anticipating releasing the birds at 6:15am. We will get the results up as soon as we can tomorrow!

Birds were coming in early this morning and throughout the day, bringing the total to 221 birds as of 7pm tonight. The Results tab is up to date.
Stragglers didn't look all that bad all things considered. And much better than I do when I'm out all night! It's looking like Thursday we will do a 25-40 mile toss to get their confidence up before the 150.
On a sad note, last Tuesday we lost a good friend. Chuck Janssen passed away from a heart attack. Chuck pulled the races for Foothills Racing Pigeon Club and the Spirit of Colorado races. We will miss him but I am sure that Dad already has 4 or 5 races for him to pull!

Training has been going smooth. Previously had worked them out to 85 miles. Today we did a training race at about 110 miles. We shipped 262 birds. Sixty-five degrees, clear & calm, release at 6:15am. The first bird came in at 9:09:43. Not a good toss today. As of about 6:15pm, 162 are listed under the Results tab (Training 8/3/08). But they are steadily coming in and will until dark and late into the day tomorrow. We will continue to update training results from this toss for the next couple days and have a final inventory on Thursday. At that time I will be contacting you on Entry Fees due.
Also, as I am entering the results, I noticed that the Arrival times are not showing up. I will do my best to get those result to show.

Training is going good. We are out about 50 miles. We did the hand inventory & chip band check Friday, July 18th. Right now we are doing the inventories under the Entries. We will have the clocking sheets from the training tosses soon.

Your birds are looking awesome! They have been flying for well over an hour almost every morning now. Today was their first trip in the trailer, taking them out about 5 miles. For their first trip they did great. So great, in fact, that they decided to do about 80 victory laps before coming in! We are going to be training hard in the weeks to come.
